Spot, our Toy Fox Terrier

One of the last photos I took of Spot
In May 2010, Spot started collapsing for no apparent reason. I took her to her vet and found it was congestive heart failure. We tried medication, but within a few days I had to make the difficult decision to put her to sleep. She turned 14 that previous January, and had followed me all over the house since she was a pup. Because I worked from home, she was my little shadow always at my side. Spot weighed in at a hefty 4 pounds and was my sweet baby. The week following her passing I barely slept, as I kept having nightmares that I made a mistake.  Who would have thought this tiny dog could have made such an impact in my life. She was an angel! We miss and love you Spot!

  1. Oh dear, my heart goes out to you...we had to make the same decision last year for our dear Mocha. It was one of the hardest decisions we ever had to make. I had always hoped that she'd go peacefully in her sleep and spare us this decision but it just didn't happen that way. Even though she was really suffering in the end I still second guessed our decision for the longest time...I guess its just human nature to do that. I totally understand what you're going through right now...Mocha was like my shadow too and I still miss her. Sending loads of (((hugs))) your way.

  3. Oh Lisa. Sorry to hear about Spot. I have a toy fox terrier named Missy and we have had her for over 8 years now. These little dogs bring so much joy. She follows me throughout my house. If I moves, she moves. I hope you have wonderful memories of your Spot and always have her in your heart.

    Hugs~
